Teagin
is a writer and a motivational speaker empowering young girls and women
to create authentic lives and relational integrity~most importantly, to live without limits. She encourages audiences to notice their own patterns and habits, not only
telling them to be unstoppable~but showing them how to do it.
On the stage, she uses her
life story as the example of what can be accomplished when obstacles
are seen as opportunities, and she shares her journey about how she
learned to walk the talk herself, giving voice to the primary issues
that hold women back. By applying humor where it is least expected, Teagin reveals a pathway for accepting the idea that women never need to change anything
about themselves in order to succeed in life or love.
The Specifics of Teagin's Talks
Teagin focuses on perspectival shifting,
homing in on the core energy behind the decision making, thinking, and
belief system, regardless of the issue.
She offers personal
insight into areas of thought and discussion that are often undisclosed
or avoided by others, sharing details about herself and talking openly
about her experiences as a way to show how awareness creates and effects change and encourages new action.
If relationships are toxic, chaotic, or simply unsatisfying, if you attract negative people or situations consistently, then something is
being overlooked and other areas of your life will most likely be off balance. It's never too early or too late to create the life you want, and it isn't as
hard as you think to start over with a new vision...this is the cornerstone of Teagin's motivational talks.
Speaking to Colleges and Young Adult Audiences
Teagin has
a soft spot for helping teens and young women entering college, speaking
to them about dating safety and self-defense from the unique
perspective of trusting their perceptions and being fully aware of their self-talk. She leads young women to recognize the traits that are
most common amongst women who get trapped by destructive men, shifting
the traditional focus of learning about red flags and abusive man
characteristics, to one that gives women solid personal awareness and
the power to recognize and control who learns about them, who doesn't,
and why that's important.
We often realize no effective "prep work" for avoiding relational harm was given to young girls when it's too late~women simply need better, more specific
information about relational harm avoidance, from someone who has experienced first had, so they can learn from her mistakes, and Teagin
provides that insight in an honest, straightforward, and approachable way.
She works with colleges and parents to help young
girls recognize which one of them may be attracted to, or attract, abusive of harmful
suitors by examining victim's issues and characteristics, as well as abuser characteristics but she shifts the focus to where it is most useful for harm avoidance and
recovery, and that is a shift that empowers women, not just by educating them about abuser-types. She
artfully
calls attention to how the media sets women up for toxic
relationships, describing the impact that has, and why it matters.
Teagin
informs audiences about the best strategies to get young girls to
recognize and avoid harm in relationships, leading them to understand
the real dynamics at play. She teaches the basics of how and why toxic
guys get attracted to, and fixated on, certain girls, and what every
woman can do immediately to keep herself safe from relational harm.
